We have a beautifully decorated Events’ Room – The James Taylor Room – in Clifford House adjoining the restaurant, which is fully air conditioned, with French doors and high-arched windows, complemented by a centrepiece chandelier as well as by the rich foliage of the gardens just beyond.
The setting is totally unique to the city. And from the moment you enter the establishment, you will be cared for by our team of professional staff, be it sipping champagne under the jacaranda trees on the lawn or stepping from the limousine to be married in the beautiful garden.
Gip’s is within walking distance of the CBD, is close to major churches, and we can recommend heritage-listed accommodation at Vacy Hall, opposite the restaurant in Russell Street, 50 metres from Clifford House.
You choose the setting
A casual-style wedding in Gip’s garden restaurant area or the newly renovated Clifford House adjoining the restaurant – it’s up to you. Sitting in our clear-sided marquee area is a magical experience in itself as you look out over the garden while dining and dancing.
The James Taylor Room in Clifford House is another experience altogether, as you sit in the beautiful old ballroom looking out into the garden through French doors and high-arched windows. The large old Heritage-listed trees are bathed in gentle light, the jacaranda filled with fairy lights and gas lamps dotted around the garden.
Cocktail parties and brunches are becoming extremely popular for wedding receptions and our garden setting is ideal for these more casual style of parties.
Our Wedding coordinator, Cath Lachmund, will be delighted to assist you in tailoring the event to your special needs. Please call Cath on 0438 608 534 or 07 4638 3588 to make an appointment to discuss your wedding.
